Woodrow Wilson
About Woodrow Wilson
The twenty eighth President who led the country through World War I. Wilson initially kept America neutral but entered the war in 1917. His Fourteen Points proposed a new world order including the League of Nations. Wilson received the Nobel Peace Prize but suffered a massive stroke in 1919 that left him incapacitated. His wife Edith effectively ran the presidency for months, one of the greatest cover ups in American history. Wilson segregated the federal government, undoing progress on racial integration. He was a complex figure, idealistic in foreign policy but deeply flawed on race.
