William Henry Harrison
About William Henry Harrison
The ninth President with the shortest presidency in US history. Harrison served only 31 days before dying of pneumonia, believed to have been caught during his lengthy inauguration speech in cold weather. His death established the precedent for vice presidential succession. Harrison was a military hero from the Battle of Tippecanoe. His campaign used the slogan Tippecanoe and Tyler Too. The real significance of Harrisons presidency was the constitutional crisis his death created, which was resolved when Vice President John Tyler took the full powers of the presidency.
