Grover Cleveland
About Grover Cleveland
The only president to serve two non consecutive terms, making him both the 22nd and 24th president. Cleveland was known for his honesty and vetoing of pork barrel spending. He fought the Tammany Hall political machine in New York. His presidency was marked by economic crisis during his second term, the Panic of 1893. Cleveland faced a surgical procedure for cancer of the jaw during his second term, which was hidden from the public. The surgery was performed on a boat to maintain secrecy. He is the only president whose wedding was held in the White House.
