Tony Blair
About Tony Blair
The Labour Prime Minister who won three consecutive elections. Blair modernized the Labour Party, moving it to the political center as New Labour. His early presidency saw the Good Friday Agreement in Northern Ireland, devolution for Scotland and Wales, and economic prosperity. Blairs support for the US led wars in Afghanistan and particularly Iraq destroyed his reputation among many supporters. The Iraq War and the dodgy dossier about weapons of mass destruction haunted his legacy. Blair resigned in 2007, replaced by Gordon Brown. He later served as Quartet Representative to the Middle East.
