About Benjamin Netanyahu

The longest serving Prime Minister in Israeli history. Netanyahu, known as Bibi, has dominated Israeli politics for three decades. His first term was from 1996 to 1999, then continuously from 2009. Netanyahu aligned Israel with Trump and normalized relations with several Arab states through the Abraham Accords. He was charged with corruption in three criminal cases. Netanyahu pushed controversial judicial reforms in 2023 that divided Israel massively. His handling of the October 7 Hamas attack in 2023 was widely criticized as an intelligence failure. Despite controversy, his political survival skills are remarkable.
